Claiming Our Common Ground – Interfaith Environmental Network

From www.interfaithenvironment.org/page8/page8.html

You and other leaders in your faith community are invited to Claiming Our Common Ground, a watershed event bringing together the faithful in the Austin area to claim our common call of environmental stewardship.

We hope this uplifting experience can inspire us all to become more faithful stewards of creation while we build community among our diversity and explore ways we may serve together to care for this good earth.

A resource area will also be available, featuring environmental stewardship info from local organizations.

Our keynote speaker will be renowned Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener, Director of Interreligious Eco-Justice Network, a faith-based organization in Hartford, Connecticut, dedicated to environmental care and education from a theological perspective. She is also a co-author of Claiming Earth As Common Ground: The Ecological Crisis Through The Lens of Faith. Rabbi Cohen-Kiener will bring to light the unique opportunities for the faith community to reinterpret and address our ecological challenges.

The program will also include information about IEN and time for small group discussion on how we might serve together more effectively. This is our inaugural event and we invite you to become a founding member now.

We pray that you will be enriched by delving into this important component of our faith traditions at Claiming Our Common Ground and discovering how your community may benefit through participation in IEN. We look forward to seeing you and other leaders in your faith community.
