World Malaria Day/Change The World Weekend: April 24-25

For those of you who are not able to make our retreat on the 24-25, join the Austin UMC District as they launch their Imagine No Malaria campaign.  Here is the schedule for the weekend:

Saturday, April 24th

9:00 PM, Faith UMC:  Austin premiere of “When the Night Comes”, a documentary about malaria in Africa by “Invisible Children” filmmaker Bobby Bailey.

8:30 PM Saturday to 7:00 AM Sunday, Faith UMC:  Sleep Out-Sleep In Event for area college students – Spend the night to bring awareness about the effect of malaria on sub-Saharan Africa. BYO sleeping bag and blanket.  Save two lives ($20 donation) and receive a free t-shirt!

Sunday, April 25

2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, South Steps of the State Capital:  Jars of Clay will headline a great lineup at the Image No Malaria Launch Pary.  Youth from across the district will gather to celebrate the 2010 Confirmands.  There will be fun and food for the whole family!
