From Kristine Borgen –
It seems like we have been sort of hibernating here at the corner of Green Acres in Wimberley for almost three years. Well, not quite, but still…… Bear with us, because now we’re ready to come out and connect and reconnect with all the people we appreciate so much! Therefore, please join us in celebrating just plain being alive, and have some while we’re at it.
- What: Saturday May 29th @ 5pm
- Where: 401 Green Acres Drive, Wimberley (don’t follow googlemap directions, they don’t take you there! See below)
- What: Potluck, but don’t stress!
- RSVP: To this message, or firstname.lastname@example.org, or call us at 512 722 3149/ 512 796 2931 (Kristine’s cell) – or, just show up….an approximate head count would be good though.
- Bring a friend!
Jimmy, Kristine, Benjamin, Jonathan and Daniel
The easiest route: take 290 west, when you come to Dripping Springs, go left/south on RR12, drive south on RR12 for approximately 20 minutes. When you enter Wimberley, pass the Exxon on you left, then there is a school on your right. Right after the school, take a right on Emergency Lane (it runs behind ACE hardware). It dead ends into the Blanco Highway, or 2325, take a right, keep going to the light (about a quarter of a mile), go left on the light onto Green Acres. Pass the Fire Station on you left and then four houses on the same side of the road. Our gate is the last on the left before Green Acres takes a 90 degree turn. So if you take a 90 degree turn on Green Acres, you’ve gone too far!
The scenic (and probably fastest) route: Take 1 (Mopac) to the South all the way through Austin, past US 290/Texas 71, through the Slaughter Lane light and the LaCrosse light. MoPac will take a big turn to the west (right) and become SH 45. SH 45 dead ends into FM 1826. Take a left (to the South). Stay on FM 1826 past the Salt Lick Restaurant and Camp Ben McCullough until it dead ends into FM 150. Take a left for about a mile. Take right in Driftwood (green sign with arrow says “Wimberley” to the right), take a right onto County Road 170 (Elder Hill Road). Stay on County Road 170, through many turns, past La Ventana, until it dead ends into RR 12. Take a left, to the South. Stay on RR 12, until you come into Wimberley, passing Broadway Bank, Exxon, DQ, etc. Take a right onto Emergency Lane (nice green sign with arrow to the right helps) right behind ACE hardware. Emergency Lane is one block long and dead ends into RR 2325 (Blanco Highway). Take a right (to the North). Stay on RR 2325 past the Shell Station, Village Library. Take a left at the first traffic light, on Green Acres (Miss Mae’s BBQ on the corner). You can turn only to the left. Stay on Green Acres past the Fire Station and the Trinity Chapel. Green Acres curves to the right a little. We are on the left, right after 333 Green Acres, and right across the street from Scudder Elementary School. Our driveway and gate are just short of the entrance to Scudder, on the left, and between two limestone columns, with “401” on the left column.
