Tutto Theatre – I Witness – Closing Weekend

“When it ended, I did not wish it to end, though I know all things end.”

“I want to enter into the art, as I entered into Van Gogh’s painting, […] to become a part of it. Tutto Theatre Company’s I Witness is just such a piece.”
-Barry Pineo, The Austin Chronicle

“[…] breathtaking […]”
-Cate Blouke, Austin360

 I Witness

an evening of dance (and spoken-word)
Choreography by Amanda Oakley, Shawn Nasralla, and Jennifer Micallef

We are witnesses to the world around us, and yet we are also an inexorable part of each scene, often simultaneously, the viewer and the viewed. As such we are presented with a deluge of choices: Detachment? Attachment? Do we choose to see? To see nothing? To look too intently? To look away? How many of us simply stand apart from our own lives? What do we choose to witness? Our lives? Our truth? Our discoveries? Our growth? Our failures? Our friends? Our neighbors? What happens when we truly see an object, an event, a scene, or another individual? What is really there? Who do we become?

Features the artistic contributions of dancers: Amanda Cevallos, Kalani Hawks, Jennifer Micallef, Shawn Nasralla, Amanda Oakley, Ryan Parent, and Randi Turkin; Actors: Alex Cogburn and Lizzi Biggers.
Also Featuring: Lighting & Set Design by Natalie George and Sound & Video Design by Eliot Hayes.
