New PFLAG Meeting in South Austin – 2nd Thursdays of the Month

There is a new PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) group in south Austin, meeting on 2nd Thursdays monthly, at 7 pm at the Faith Presbyterian Church on 1314 E. Oltorf– across from Travis High School. The January 13th meeting is organizational.

In the words of organizers Joe and Pam Farley: “PFLAG meetings are a support group for ALL of us:  whether we are gay–a parent–family member–friend–straight ally—all of us can be of support to each other–and need to be.”

February’s meeting will include a presentation from interns, volunteers, and youth of OUT YOUTH here in Austin.  It will be a great opportunity to hear from those still in school about their experiences and how we as a PFLAG group can be a supportive resource for them and their families.
