Save the Date – 10th Anniversary of 9/11 Special Events

Mark your calendars for two important community-wide events related to the upcoming 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. First on, Wednesday, September the 7th Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) will host a special edition of The Red Bench interfaith dialogue program focusing on the lessons learned from 9/11 and its aftermath. The Red Bench offers participants the opportunity to meet individuals from different faith traditions and share “conversations that matter.” This special edition of The Red Bench will run from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and light refreshments will be served. The Red Bench is held at the First Methodist Church Family Life Center at the northeast corner of Lavaca and 13th streets downtown. Then, on the afternoon of 9/11 itself (Sunday, September the 11th) iACT, in partnership with Congregation Beth Israel, will hosting an interfaith memorial service that will be open to the entire community. The memorial service is planned for 4:00 PM. Location TBD.
