MFSA and Trinity to Participate in Pride Parade

Please join the Methodist Federation for Social Action (MFSA), Trinity, and fellow United Methodists as we walk in the Austin Pride Parade on Saturday, September 10 from 10:00 am to Noon.  The Trinity walkers will carry Trinity’s banner to show our support of full inclusion of GLBT persons in the United Methodist Church and in society.
If you want to meet us at the west side of Congress and Riverside, where the parade begins, please try to be downtown by 9:15am.  We will join with members of First, University, St John’s, Grace, and other area Methodist churches to show our support.  A convertible will be available for anyone who would like to ride in the parade.  If you are interested in participating in the Pride Parade, please let Deana Henry ( know.
The Men’s Meditation group is sharing their booth with Trinity at Pride Fest and you can contact Gary Brown ( to volunteer to help with this effort.
Finally, there is a city-wide worship service celebrating Pride Week at University UMC (on Guadalupe) on Thursday night September 8 at 7 pm.  Please come and share with people from all faiths and from all over Austin.
Deana Henry, chair MFSA
